Ceiling heights Raising or lowering the height of the ceilings on one or more floors of a house is often a simple change that can be made by your builder. However, if you want to raise the ceiling of the main floor of a two-story home, there has to be room to add steps to the existing staircase. |

Vaulted ceilings
We consider a room to be vaulted if the ceiling - whether flat, angled, or curved - is above 10 feet at its highest point. If you prefer that one or more rooms not be vaulted in your new home, this is a very simple change that your builder can make for you.

LR, FOY |
After coming off of the covered entry, you enter a formal foyer space with a two–story high ceiling that reaches 24', and a decorative curved stairwell. To the left a pair of doors open into a library that is both opulent and cozy, making a perfect place for simple solitude and relaxation. As you walk straight through the central gallery space, you pass a wet bar and a wine cellar. Straight ahead is a formal living room, which has a decorative coffered ceiling that is 24' high, a stately fireplace, and curved windows that look out to the rear. Abundant windows at the rear span the entire two–story high curved wall, bringing in plenty of sunshine and multiple views. A pair of glazed doors walks out to the covered patio, which has a barbeque area and a half–cabana bath. From the living room, there is an opening that is framed by a pair of columns to the formal dining room.
If you turn right from the gallery space, you pass a media room, which has a counter and sink, before going through a vestibule space that leads to a gourmet kitchen and the family room. The spacious kitchen is open to the family room and the breakfast nook, and it features a large center island with a prep sink built in. The family room has arched windows that line the rear wall, and a pair of doors that lead to the covered patio at the rear. A utilitarian hallway leads to a maid's room that has its own private full bath, a laundry room, and a three–car garage. On the other side of the living room are a powder room, and a deluxe bedroom suite that would make any family member/guest happy. The suite features a luxurious private bath with a linen closet, two vanity sinks, a private toilet room, a whirlpool tub, and a separate shower. There is also a walk–in closet, and a door to the rear patio for private access.
As you go up the curved stairs, a long picture window lights up the staircase, and provides views to the front. The upper landing opens up to a loft space, with views to the foyer and the living room spaces below. If you turn right at the loft space, there is an upper utility/laundry room, and a bedroom suite with a walk–in closet, a private full bath, and a private covered balcony that looks out to the front. The master bedroom suite and exercise room take up the rest of this wing. A central vestibule separates the exercise room and master bedroom, making it convenient to go from one room to the other. After entering the master bedroom, a small vestibule leads you to a morning kitchen space, which has a counter with a sink and an under counter refrigerator. Next to the morning kitchen is a dressing area, which accesses a "his" and a much larger "her" walk–in closet. The master bedroom is spacious, has coffered ceilings, windows that look out the rear and side, and a pair of doors that walks out to a private covered balcony. Another pair of doors leads to the luxurious master bathroom. The bathroom features two separate toilet rooms, a large shower, a whirlpool tub set into a large curved pedestal with two columns, a decorative coffered ceiling in the center, and two separate vanity sinks. Frosted glass above the whirlpool tub brings in natural light from the balcony space. On the other side of the loft space, there are two more bedroom suites, each with its own walk–in closet, dressing area, and private full bath. Bedroom 3 also has a private covered balcony that looks out to the rear, while Bedroom 4 has a smaller curved balcony that looks out to the front.
Please Note
